Archiving Policy
Archiving Policy
The Journal of Sustainable Materials Processing and Management (JSMPM) is committed to ensuring the digital preservation and long-term accessibility of all published academic articles, in alignment with international publishing best practices. Even in the event that this journal is no longer published in the future, all journal content will remain secured and accessible to the academic community through the following archiving mechanisms:
- Global Archiving via the OJS Platform: As a journal operating on the Open Journal Systems (OJS), this journal is officially indexed in The Keepers Registry and utilizes distributed archiving systems, specifically the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN) managed by Simon Fraser University. These systems permit participating libraries and preservation networks to create permanent digital archives to ensure the long-term preservation, safety, and restoration of all published journal data.
- Institutional Repository and UTHM Internal Backup: All final published manuscripts are permanently archived within the UTHM Publisher database. This includes a dedicated offline backup server storage as well as the UTHM Institutional Repository to ensure data is continuously protected against any technical or physical server failures.
- National Centralized Archiving: In accordance with the provisions of the Deposit of Library Material Act 1986, digital copies of each journal issue are required to be officially deposited and archived at the National Library of Malaysia (PNM). This serves as a legal depository to permanently preserve the nation's intellectual heritage.
